🪦 I just don't find most (99%) of the stories on HN to be interesting anymore, and it has just become a chore (even with this tool filtering) to slog through a lot of uninteresting links. The links I do click are mostly just click bait, and when I get to the page I end up closing it after a few seconds because it's uninteresting. Another nail in this coffin is that I've setup an RSS feed with pages that post interesting articles (for the post part) that aren't all about AI,AI,AI,rust and zig. Once you have a feed of actual interesting content you start to see how shallow and empty the articles posted on HN are.
TLDR: I'm not using this anymore.
What I wanted was the ability to mark stories as read so I don't have to scan over them to see anything new.
Getting a summary of the article is the best feature, since lately I can't be bothered to read 100s of pages just to find out that nothing is really said.

There is also a web version now:

After seeing this https://elijahpotter.dev/articles/hacker-news-sans-AI pop up, I decided to add a filter also, I've done this in the past on a different version of this project, and really just ended up blocking almost everything; which is actually good, because then it just turns into one less thing to look at.

I've also added a new feature that prompts you when you click on a link: why are you clicking that link; what question are you trying to answer? Or are you just bored and clicking links?
Each new feature added: filter, question on link, all reduce the number of low quality, click bait, rage inducing garbage pages that make it into my brain; because once it goes in, it never comes back out.
